This system allows for a single point of contact with government agencies. By providing a central framework for identifying and authenticating individuals against a national population register it reduces the costs for individual government agencies to provide internet based services.It also involves an asynchronous messaging system for inter-agency communications. This is currently used to communicate information relating to the births, deaths and marriages of individuals to relevant state agencies and for communications between state agencies and the national taxation authority in fiscal matters.
This system allows clients to submit their annual returns (Form B1) electronically via their secretarial software using a digital signature for authentication and verification purposes.
