Tax declarations online “FinanzOnline” started in 2003. So far (April 2006) one million users have been registered (840.000 citizens, 160.000 organisations/companies). Access is either provided using a username/password (access code) send as registered letter, or the citizen card supporting eSignature. The service includes:

Electronic delivery allows for the electronic service of documents – with or without a proof of delivery. The aim of electronic delivery is to be able to provide entire administrative proceedings in electronic form. With the implementation of the public administration’s delivery service in May 2004 this goal has been reached. Regarding service quality and proof of delivery, electronic delivery is superior to postal delivery, as the entire transaction uses the same media.

Electronic confirmation of residence is was the first fully transactional service that useds the citizen card. It has been developed as a model eGovernment service that involves all the basic components of eGovernemnt: Identification, electronic signature of an application, payment, electronic delivery.

An Online request of all period of contributions to social insurance (pension) accounts. The collection of all periods and all employers is generated online.
