Security is increasingly an issue for many networks. The need to electronically exchange sensitive information securely and reliably calls for a system allowing authentication and confidentiality. Sectoral networks or applications of the Commission or Agencies require to increase the confidentiality or integrity level of their exchange of data.
The IDABC Certification Services action, the continuation of an existing action of the IDA II Programme called PKI Services provide such a tool for security, and more precisely, organise and manage keys and electronic certificates which guarantee secure data communication.
