Working with the Community: OSS in Public Administrations
The IDABC forum will examine two key issues:
- Pooling infrastructures (‘source forges’ for the public sector); this will follow up on the work done by the IDABC Open Source Observatory to inventorise public sector applications and on initiatives such as Adullact in France, and will ask: is it time to move towards a European network of ‘government forges’?
- Software licensing schemes: with more attention being paid to the legal implications of using/distributing open source software and the creation of national licenses: Has the time come for a European public sector open source license?
