eGovernment applications have been grouped following various attributes:

• by signature type, i.e. qualification of the eSignature (e.g. Qualified, Advanced, ...);
  
  
• by token type, i.e. type of token used to store keys/certificates/credentials (e.g. smartcard, USB token, ...);
  
  
• by document type, i.e. format of the signed document (e.g. XML, PDF, ...);
  
  
• by sector, i.e. the sector to which the eGovernment application belongs to (eProcurement, eTax, eVAT).
